SocialSpark.com Brings Bloggers and Advertisers Together

Saturday March 29, 2008

SocialSpark.com is a new social network that is currently in an alpha test but is set to roll out to the public in mid-April 2008, according to BloggingTips.com. SocialSpark is owned by IZEA who operates PayPerPost and a variety of other popular blogger-related businesses and brands.

I haven't been part of the alpha test, but based on the SocialSpark demo video (give the video in this link a minute to load), this looks like it could be a phenomenal online community to be a part of. In short, SocialSpark brings bloggers and advertisers together through two core site components: a traditional social network and an advertising opportunity section (both paid posts and blog sponsorship advertising opportunities will be available through SocialSpark).

PayPerPost has seen some challenges, particularly in terms of blogs finding their Google page ranks drop simply because they participate in paid posting, but SocialSpark seems to be taking those learnings into consideration and using them to make this type of blog monetization opportunity viable again.

What do you think of SocialSpark? Will you be joining when it opens to the public next month?
