You should mention that Technorati is also probably the least responsive company on the Internet. It has dozens upon dozens of complaints about the difficulty of claiming blogs. They have apparently closed down the ability to make comments or start new topics on their technical support forums. I have been trying to claim my blog for about a month, submitted several technical support tickets, tried several different ways, but never received a reply. Makes me wonder whether anybody is home. I have never experienced this degree of unresponsiveness from any company I’ve ever dealt with.

These directions appear to be out of date. I haven’t been able to accomplish what is in steps 1 and 2 on Technorati’s current site.

Technorati has announced that blogs written in a language different from English will be no more supported by their service. A consistent and valuable piece of blogosphere is disappearing from their index. See Technorati: the War of Languages.

The instructions seem out of date. There is a new procedure where you’d need to incorporate a code in one of the posts.

The Metro Fox

P/s: After putting in the tags for your blog, you’d be given code to incorporate into on of your posts. Do this then verify.

The process for claiming a blog has indeed changed since this post was written. It is needlessly cumbersome and even after adding the technorati code to a post which I did on Feb. 15, and as instructed reported to Technorati that it was there, the automated response said it has found the code but it would take time (unspecified – days, months, years?) for technorati to authenticate – the claim.

I recently claimed my blog in Technorati. I added my blog in Technology Blogs because its related to Technology. Also, I found Technorati changed the way of adding blogs.

I Published ‘claim token’ in RSS feed and after 8-10 days I got approval mail from Technorati.
