Twitter has launched a new login verification process to help keep members' accounts secure.
If you use Twitter for microblogging and/or to promote your blog, then you should ensure you're following Twitter's tips to keep your account secure. The new login verification process adds another layer of security. However, it's not an ideal solution.
First, you'll need to "turn on" the login verification feature within your Twitter account settings. Each time you log into your Twitter account after the feature is enabled, a unique verification code will be sent via SMS to your mobile device. You'll need to use that code as a temporary password to log into your account.
It's a cumbersome process that will slow you down and could raise your monthly mobile bill (depending on your SMS plan), but it will provide you with additional security to keep nefarious individuals or organizations from hacking your Twitter account.
