BlogDesk is a popular offline blog editor that can help bloggers write posts quickly and easily without an internet connection.

BlogDesk is Free and Easy to Use

Downloading BlogDesk to your computer is very easy, and it's free. Simply select the download option on the BlogDesk website and install the files to your hard drive. It's equally easy to install multiple blogs onto BlogDesk. Simply select the option from the BlogDesk file menu to add a new blog, follow the few simple steps and that's it. You can start writing new blog posts on BlogDesk within minutes.

The BlogDesk interface is easy to understand with a WYSIWIG editor and icons that will be recognizable by bloggers. Overall, it's very intuitive. If you've used blogging software, you should be able to pick up on the features of BlogDesk fairly quickly.

BlogDesk Offers a Variety of Features

BlogDesk includes a number of features that can help you enhance your blog posts. For example, the image wizard allows you to easily resize and align your images as well as add unique backgrounds to them. The best part is you can simply place the images in your blog post within BlogDesk, and BlogDesk will automatically upload them with your post when you hit the publish button.

Additionally, adding categories, links, Technorati tags and pinging is simple. You can also change the date stamp for your posts, so you can schedule when they will go live. You can even edit posts that you already published through BlogDesk.

The Negatives of BlogDesk

Unfortunately, BlogDesk is not a perfect offline blog editor. For example, it does not support all blog software platforms. Also, BlogDesk is only compatible with Windows 98, NT, 2000, ME, XP, Vista (an extra download from Microsoft is necessary for BlogDesk to work with Vista).

Bottom-line

Overall, BlogDesk is a great offline editor for Windows users who use a blogging software supported by BlogDesk (check the BlogDesk website for a current list of supported blogging software). It's easy to use, free and reliable, which are three of the most important features a blogger wants from an offline editor.
