Link Checkers for Bloggers

By , About.com Guide

An important part of growing traffic to your blog and search engine optimization is boosting your blog's ranking in keyword searches related to your blog's topic that people perform on major search engines like Google. One of the primary factors that increases your blog's Google page rank is the number of quality incoming links coming to your blog from other blogs and Web sites. You can use any of the sites below to get an idea of the number of incoming links coming to your blog. Just keep in mind that none of these tools is completely accurate, so it's a good idea to compare results from multiple sites for clarity.

1. Google

Just visit Google and type in link:www.yourblogname.com in the search box. Be sure to change "yourblogname" to your own blog's domain. Hit the enter key and a list of links to your blog from across the Web is returned to you.

If you want to limit your incoming links search to only include incoming links from other blogs, visit blogsearch.google.com, enter the same text and click the Search Blogs button.

2. Yahoo!

Visit the Yahoo home page and enter linkdomain:www.yourblogname.com into the search box. Remember to change "yourblogname" to your own blog's domain name. Hit Enter and a list of links to your blog is returned to you.

3. Google Webmaster Tools

Google offers a wealth of comprehensive information as part of its free Google Webmaster Tools. Just visit the Google Webmasters Tools site, register for an account, and you're ready to analyze all of that information about your blog!
