Bellevue Cosmetic Dentist Choosing the Best Dentistry
The Blogger template I started with
I started with the basic Blogger.com template which is free. I tried several different templates, before settling on the one that I currently am using with Blogger.com.
How I modified the template for my blog
I went to an all black background to be able to see high-lighted colored fonts better than with a white back ground. I try to use photos with each of my posts that discuss cosmetic dental procedures. The photos show up better against the black background especially when you want to emphasize white teeth in smile makeovers. I like the flourescent green headings which I think stand out really nicely against the black background. For any subheading I use a slightly different shade of green. I like the royal blue to high-light my URL text links. I am still working on the layout and other things to make the blog better. Since cosmetic dentistry is very visual and therefore requires good photos of patients, I add photos to those articles which deal with cosmetic dentistry procedures that we have performed. Also, I added a permanent on going slide show of patients that have had their smiles changed in our dental office. This rotating slide show comes up at the start of each post when you log into our blog. This is available with Blogger.com as a Gadget. However, it took me a while to figure out how to get the slide show up with each post. To produce the rotating slide show, I went to www.slide.com, where they have a large variety of templates to set up a beautiful slide show. I chose a rotating slide show with raindrops to make it more relaxing to watch.
Advice
- I would suggest posting on a regular basis, which I have been guilty of not doing. The more you post, the easier it is to use the Blogger.com.
- Write down any unusual things that you do so that you can return to do them again with relative ease.
- Play around with their different variations, especially colors, until you find what works well for you. For example, I never use the color red with dental items. Blues and greens work best to represent a tranquil environment.
- Go to the Layout tab and use the Gadget section. It has a lot neat things that can be added to your blog, such as the slide show.
