Are you tweeting yet? Everyone else seems to be, and a new study by Nielsen provides the statistics to prove it. According to Nielsen, Twitter grew by 1382% between February 2008 and February 2009. Not only that, but if you thought Twitter was just for teens and twentysomethings, think again. The Nielsen report states that the 35-49 year old age group is the biggest Twitter audience.
The story doesn't end there. Twitter's growth could be much bigger than the Nielsen report tells us, because the report doesn't include people who use Twitter via their mobile phones. For example, nearly 1 million unique visitors accessed Twitter via the web through their mobile phones between February 2008 and February 2009, and another 1 million accessed Twitter via text messaging through their mobile phones.
